Who are my typical clients?
Artist entrepreneurs, small and mid-sized companies including artists, musicians, writers, theatrical presenters, agents, galleries, and educational enterprises relating to the arts come to me for legal advice and documents. Many clients are entrepreneurs, small business owners and self-employed individuals. Sometimes I work with business entities such as trade unions and boards of directors.
What will we do?
Clients typically come to me to discuss their issues and concerns. Once I understand them, I outline the work to be done, the time frame and the fees associated. At the end of the planning, we create a strategy report based on your objectives that becomes the basis for subsequent business documents and negotiations to ensure your continued growth in your chosen field. The document addresses your areas of concern and lists specific provisions you want to have in your present and future negotiated agreements and licenses. I may identify other needs and introduce you to other professionals I trust and who you may need in connection with your progress and strategy.
How does the process help me?
At the end of the process, I need you to be free of what a writer client describes as “that strong feeling of being completely out of my depth.” Our work will provide you with the choices and control you want. We will work together to obtain the best results for you. While you continue your career as an artist and owner of your business, I will continue to be available to step in when you need additional strategic planning or legal protections.
